New Albany, OH: New Albany Founders Day is pleased to recognize former Mayor of New Albany Colleen Briscoe as the 2022 Grand Marshall.

Colleen Briscoe

“I want to thank the Founders Day Committee for honoring me this year,” said Briscoe. “It is particularly special to me as Becki Knore and Linda Honaker were two of my first friends in this community. I volunteered for the Founders Day Committee in the first few years I lived here – even taking turns in the dunk tank and running the chili cook-off for Founders Day in the early nineties.”

Colleen Briscoe moved to New Albany in 1992 with her husband Bob Berry and my two children Connor and K.C. (Katherine), both of whom attended New Albany Schools from kindergarten through graduation.

She was elected Mayor of New Albany in 1995 and worked in that capacity from 1996 through 2004.  Briscoe then served on New Albany City Council from 2005 until she decided not to seek another term in 2021.  She is still a member of the Community Improvement Corporation and is the citizen liaison for Senior Connections.

Briscoe practiced law for over 40 years as a prosecutor, magistrate, and in private practice. She served on various committees for the State and Columbus Bar Associations including two terms on the Columbus Bar Association Board of Governors.
