FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 12, 2025

New Albany, OH: New Albany Founders Day is pleased to recognize Neighborhood Bridges New Albany as the 2025 Community Connection Award Honoree.

The New Albany Special Olympics program, an accredited chapter of Special Olympics Ohio, proudly provides year-round sports training and competitive opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in our community.

As part of the global Special Olympics movement founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver in 1968, the New Albany program embodies the core mission of empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities through sport, health, education, and leadership initiatives.

The program remains dedicated to its vision of fostering acceptance, inclusion, and well-being for people with intellectual disabilities through the transformative power of sports.

The New Albany Founders Day Community Connection Award was established in 2008 to recognize and showcase the outstanding work and services performed by an area non-profit civic group that serves the New Albany community and the surrounding area.

The New Albany Special Olympics will be recognized at the Dr. Glyde A. Marsh New Albany Founders Day Parade and New Albany Founders Day Festival on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Rose Run Park in New Albany.
