Schedule of Events

New Albany Founders Day has been tentatively moved from May 15th to August 28th due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Event date and time are subject to change based on guidance from the Franklin County Board of Health and the City of New Albany. We will confirm the date on July 19th. 

Healthy New Albany Rose Run 5K

Children and adults alike will be able to participate in this event, and registrants can participate as individuals, with family or friends, or by creating a team with co-workers. Proceeds from the race will provide funding for Healthy New Albany initiatives, including senior and youth programs, Garden Club, After School Nature & Cooking Programs, Food Pantry, Summer Meals, Cancer Survivorship program, and various community events.

Rose Run Park Dedication

Following the Rose Run 5K, Healthy New Albany will sponsor various family activities around Rose Run Park, the Marx Library Garden and the Heit Center parking lot as a lead up to the Rose Run Park dedication, which will begin around 10:30 am. Mayor Spalding and other members of City Council will officially dedicate the park with New Albany families and businesses who helped make Rose Run Park a reality.

Parking is free at one of several parking lots surrounding the school. Please see our interactive map…

We usually welcome 5,000 to 7,000 people to Founders Day each year!

The event proceeds rain or shine. Many of our exhibitors and vendors have tents.

Some rides and activities are complimentary and some require tickets purchased the day of the event. Tickets are $1.25 per ticket or a book of 20 is $20. Carnival rides will take 1-5 tickets per rider.
